Introduction
Lightgen™
is a substrate kit for detecting the activity of Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) in Western Blotting
Analysis, Northern or Southern hybridization, and non-radioactive EMSA. Lightgen™ emits visible light
when it react with HRP. The light can be detected by X-ray films
and CCD imager system.
Among these substrates,
Lightgen™ HL has
extremely-high sensitivity and is capable of detecting femtogram
quantities of nucleic acids or proteins. Lightgen™ CL
is
formulated to optimize the capture of images with x-ray films.
Lightgen™ BL is formulated to have extremely low background
staining when it is used in Western blot analysis. |

Application
Lightgen™
can be used for Nitrocellulose, PVDF and Nylon membranes.
Lightgen™ has higher sensitivity
(femtogram level)
than most of its counterparts such as ECL, LumiGLO®,
Renaissance®, and Western Lightning™.
For
example, if the original dilution of HRP-labeled probe is
1:1000, when using Lightgen™, it is necessary to dilute it to
1:5000 or higher.

Lightgen™ has very high sensitivity and
its signals are long lasting. Also, it is easy to use and easy to
store. If storing substrates A and B separately in their own
tinted bottles at room temperature, they can be stored for at least
3 weeks. If the bottles are stored at 4°C or lower, they can
last for 12 months or more. If mixed (during experiment or just
before experiment), the effectiveness of the reagent can last up
to 72 hours. |
